Like a trip to the antique store. Images, artifacts, and stories of life in the University District in Columbus, Ohio from the past 150 years and much, much more.

Downtown Columbus, c. 1907. 105 years ago.
View from State St. at High, looking north to Broad and High.
One of Henry Chittenden’s electric streetcars is coming down the street. You can also see the illuminated arches that dominated the downtown streetscape back then. Statehouse grounds are on your right.
In the background, a little right of center, is 16 E. Broad St. Built in 1900, it was the tallest building (13 floors, 180 feet) in the city until 1906. It alone of the buildings in this image still stands today.
